Nahsai Awarded Small Business Technology Transfer Contract From U.S. Air Force

Nahsai, an advanced materials technology start-up with offices in Michigan and Texas, has been awarded a Phase II Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) contract by the U.S. Air Force through the AFWERX innovation program. This award will allow Nahsai to accelerate the delivery of extreme environment sensing solutions based on leading edge material and manufacturing technologies originally developed and licensed through research partnerships between the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory and Florida State University.
Under the Phase II contract Nahsai will develop and test an array of wireless self-powered sensors that operate in temperatures approaching 3000 degrees Fahrenheit. Nahsai has partnered with North Carolina State University on the project, and will be working with U.S. Air Force Research Lab personnel in Dayton, OH and Edwards, CA, along with the U.S. Space Force’s Rocket Systems Launch Program based in Albuquerque, NM. The objective of their work is to take advantage of technologies being commercialized by Nahsai for non-defense solutions to potentially advance sensing capabilities for the Department of Defense (DoD) in areas of hypersonics, space, and rocket propulsion system development.
