Mayor de Blasio has ridiculous sympathy for one New York institution while squeezing small businesses across the city

How much for a slice of steaming hot hypocrisy, and do you mind if it gets eaten with a knife and fork?On the verge of his umpteenth trip to fail to win over primary voters in New Hampshire, Mayor de Blasio reacted to the news that a legendary Brooklyn pizza joint was shuttered by stateauthorities for failing to pay more than $167,000 in taxes.“Di Fara is THE best pizza place in New York City," went his lament. “It MUST be saved. I’m ready to do anything I can to get them reopened — as are thousands of New York City pizza-lovers. My team and I are looking into how we can help resolvethis situation.”We love good food and appreciate neighborhood institutions as much as the next New Yorker, but the promise of action on behalf of one in-arrears small business is enough to make other taxpaying enterprises gag.
