On March 8, 2023, Budderfly, a leading sustainability partner for firms with recurring footprints, announced a major contract with Carrier, a global heating, refrigeration and air conditioning solutions provider. Under the agreement, Budderfly will install thousands of Carrier's most efficient commercial packaged rooftop units in small and medium-sized businesses across the United States, with a particular focus on fast food, quick service, and casual dining restaurants. The move is expected to help Budderfly's clients save money and reduce their carbon footprint.
Budderfly has acquired over 2,000 of Carrier's WeatherExpert® ultra high-efficiency single-packaged rooftop HVAC units with Puron® (R-410A) refrigerant, which will be delivered in the second quarter of this year. This model is Carrier's most energy-efficient commercial packaged rooftop unit to date and meets a variety of high-efficiency criteria, including exceeding the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) 90.1, ENERGY STAR® efficiency thresholds, the Department of Energy's Advanced RTU Challenge, , and Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE) criteria.
Budderfly's solutions are available to customers at no upfront cost, and cost savings are generated from energy-efficient upgrades as well as energy usage and demand management, monitoring, and optimization services.
