Amazon is bringing its small business e-commerce academy to Milwaukee

Seattle-based e-commerce giant Amazon.com Inc. will host its second-ever Amazon Small Businesses Academy in the U.S. this week in Milwaukee. The training is a chance for small business owners to learn how to start and grow a business selling online. The free event takes place Friday at the Miller Room, 910 E. Michigan St., in Milwaukee beginning at 10 a.m. In the last year, more than 7,500 businesses in the state have sold nearly 28 million items on Amazon (Nasdaq: AMZN), and in that time, small and medium-sized businesses in the state grew sales a combined 20% to nearly $1 billion on Amazon, according to the company. The first Small Business Academy was held in November in Southaven, Mississippi, near Memphis, Tennessee.
