$2.1 billion in federal contracts went to NJ small businesses in 2018

Out of $9.3 billion in federal contracts issued to New Jersey businesses last year, $2.1 billion went to small businesses, according to the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Fiscal Year 2018 Small Business Federal Procurement Scorecard. This meets the Small Business Administration’s mandatory goal of 23 percent of all federal contracts. The Federal Procurement Scorecard is a tool to assess how well federal agencies reach their small business and socio-economic prime contracting and subcontracting goals. It also helps provide accurate and transparent contracting data and reports agency-specific progress.
