Greenville competition offering small business grant

GREENVILLE, NC (WITN) Here's your chance to qualify for a grant if you have a dream of opening or expanding a small business in Greenville.Entrepreneurs who believe they have the next great business idea will once again have a chance to receive a grant to help out financially.It is a part of the city of Greenville's Small Business Plan competition, which will award grants up to $30,000.The competition is an economic incentive for expanding businesses located in the center of the city or West Greenville's redevelopment areas.We talked to one business owner who received the grant several years ago and she says others who want to open a business should take advantage of it.In the past 10 years, the competition has created an incentive for 38 small businesses within the designated areas of Greenville. The deadline to apply for the grant is January 21, 2019.
